Debate Tonight

We’ll be watching the candidate debate tonight and grading both the candidates and ABC on whether they discuss the issues that really matter to voters– jobs, the economy, and enforcing our trade laws.

CRICKETMETER

"Deafening silence":

Not a creature stirring, not a whisper about millions of lost jobs.

"Can it get any quieter?!":

Typical campaign talk about a better America, but nothing of substance.

"As quiet as a tree falling in the forest when no one is around":

Jobs and the economy discussed, but no concrete solutions offered.

"Small Talk":

Good discussion of manufacturing woes and unfair competition, but still no promise to address such illegal Chinese trade practices as dumping, subsidies, and currency manipulation.

"Hurrah":

Finally, a candidate goes on record as promising to take strong action against China and enforce U.S. trade law.
